Guangzhou, March 10, 2026 — The Global Lighting Procurement Federation (GLPF) successfully concluded the salon themed “Global Vision, Focus on the Flower City – 2026 Global Lighting Procurement Matchmaking Event: ‘Into Guangzhou.’” Adhering to a closed-door, in-depth, and precise format, the event brought together dozens of representatives from across the lighting industry chain. Through trend analysis, standards interpretation, and targeted matchmaking, participants collaboratively explored development pathways and cooperation opportunities for China’s lighting industry amid evolving global dynamics.

“Nine Beams of Future Light”

Opening the event, Mr. Tang Guoqing, Vice Chairman of CIES, delivered a keynote speech titled “Nine Beams of Future Light: New Quality Productive Forces and High-Quality Development of the Lighting Industry.”Addressing the industry’s shifts toward intelligence, health, and sustainability, he articulated critical insights into key future growth sectors. Mr. Tang translated the concept of “new quality productive forces” into tangible domains: AI-integrated lighting, therapeutic lighting, age-friendly lighting, smart ambient automotive lighting, horticultural lighting, emotional wellness lighting, and specialized industrial/semiconductor lighting. He emphasized that enterprises must focus on core value, driving continuous innovation and high-quality development to seize initiative in the global market.

GLPF Builds Global Service Network

Ms. Zeng Xiaolan, Executive President of GLPF, outlined the federation’s global service framework and strategic roadmap. Since its establishment in 2025, GLPF has built a service network across Hong Kong, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Thailand, the U.S., and Dubai, anchored by seven platforms: international procurement matchmaking, standards development, market expansion, certification services, intellectual property, government-academia-industry collaboration, and talent cultivation. Ms. Zeng stressed GLPF’s mission: “Expand Global Markets with GLPF.” By integrating resources and bridging connections, the federation empowers members to navigate overseas challenges and evolve from “product export” to “brand export.”

New Benchmark for Export Capability: Empowering Brand Globalization

Addressing industry pain points—fragmented certifications and lack of standardized capability assessment—Mr. Wu Chunping, Director of the Standards Department (SLDA/GLPF) detailed the forthcoming group standard: Specification for Evaluating Export Capability of Lighting Enterprises. As China’s first systematic evaluation framework, this standard introduces a science-based quantitative rating system. It assesses enterprises across five core dimensions—fundamental capability, production strength, product quality, R&D innovation, and certification management—using over 30 verifiable metrics to assign ratings from 1A to 5A. Mr. Wu noted that the standard’s core mission is to build trust bridges in global procurement. High ratings will serve as vital references for international buyers during supplier screening and factory audit simplification, reducing transaction costs and enhancing supply chain access. GLPF will spearhead member enterprise evaluations and certification, advocating for broad international adoption to underpin Chinese lighting brands’ global expansion.

Procurement Matchmaking & Dialogue

During the final Procurement Matchmaking & Dialogue Session, representatives engaged in efficient, face-to-face discussions on specific products, technologies, and collaboration needs. International brand procurement leaders shared sourcing logic and trend perspectives: Mr. Xu Xianping (SYLVANIA) urged the industry to move beyond homogeneous competition, highlighting the integration of solar and lighting technologies as a promising frontier. Mr. Zhou Chuanjun (Cooper Lighting) emphasized demand for premium smart products coupled with extreme cost efficiency, urging supply chain automation. Ms. Qin Mengchuan (American Lighting) valued the salon as a prime opportunity to connect directly with top-tier Chinese suppliers, anticipating deeper collaboration. Ms. Lavina Zhong (Hamelin S.A.) stressed that superior industrial design is paramount in today’s mature technological landscape. The exchanges yielded preliminary consensus on supply chain synergy, market expansion, and technical cooperation among multiple enterprises.
