GLPF Attends Light + Building 2026, Conducts In-Depth Visits to Member Exhibitors

The premier global event for lighting and building technology—Light + Building 2026—grandly opened on March 8 at Messe Frankfurt. Under the theme “Be Electrified – Electrifying Places. Illuminating Spaces.”, the fair spotlights cutting-edge trends in sustainability, smart connectivity, and healthy lighting environments. The Global Lighting Procurement Federation (GLPF), serving as a vital bridge for the worldwide lighting industry, is deeply engaged in this year’s event. GLPF President Mr. Chen Lei has arrived onsite, prioritizing in-depth visits to member exhibitors and strategic partners to gain firsthand insights into the latest industry developments while championing the growth of the sector.

During the show, President Chen navigated the expansive exhibition halls, holding substantive discussions with executives and technical experts from numerous institutions and enterprises.

Charlie Chen began his visit at the booth of the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES), meeting with Ms. Colleen Harper, IES Executive Director. As one of the world’s most authoritative standard-setting and research bodies in lighting, IES publications and findings profoundly influence the global industry. Their dialogue focused on mutual understanding and explored potential collaboration in standards alignment, joint research initiatives, and professional talent development.

President Chen then conducted focused visits to the following GLPF member companies, receiving detailed briefings on their latest products, core technologies, and market strategies:

• Shenzhen Rishang Optoelectronics: A national high-tech enterprise under Manrun Tech, Rishang is a leader in LED signage lighting. President Chen highlighted its innovations across three key segments: LED advertising signage, linear lighting, and educational lighting, while noting its role in drafting relevant industry standards.

Shenzhen Fahold Electronics: A national high-tech enterprise specializing in smart LED drivers. President Chen focused on Fahold’s innovative solutions for outdoor roads, industrial lighting, and its market-leading drivers for horticultural lighting.

Yihui Lighting Technology: Established in 2011 and headquartered in Shenzhen’s Bao’an District, Yihui is a high-tech enterprise dedicated to R&D, manufacturing, and sales of LED emergency lighting drivers. Guided by its mission to “Make Every Beam Safe and Reliable,” the company is committed to providing high-quality emergency lighting solutions globally, safeguarding lives with light.

Moso Power Supply Technology: A Shenzhen Stock Exchange-listed company and globally advanced power solutions provider. President Chen reviewed its comprehensive portfolio of smart LED drivers covering roads, industrial facilities, sports stadiums, and horticultural lighting, with particular attention to high-reliability solutions designed for large-scale projects.

Dongguan Ledestar Optoelectronics: Specializing in high-end LED packaged devices and specialty lighting solutions. President Chen learned about Ledestar’s technical expertise in SMD, COB, and UV-C disinfection sources, along with application cases in commercial and plant growth lighting.

Zhongshan Darco Optical: A leading domestic manufacturer of LED optical components, focusing on lens R&D and manufacturing. President Chen received updates on Darco’s precision optical design and mold-making capabilities, which serve diverse sectors including automotive, medical, and general illumination.

Ningbo Longer Lighting Appliance Co., Ltd.: This national high-tech enterprise features smart lighting products and modular designs. President Chen prioritized reviewing R&D progress and global market adoption of its flagship products: smart LED tri-proof lights and horticultural supplemental lighting.

Dongguan iShineLux Technology: A professional LED luminaire manufacturer specializing in floodlights, high-mast lights, sports lights, and tunnel lights for outdoor and industrial applications. President Chen examined the distinct features of its product lines and its quality system compliant with multiple international certifications.

Jiangsu Yurun Optoelectronics: A national high-tech and “Specialized, Refined, Unique, and Innovative” (SRUI) enterprise with 18 years of focus on high-end flexible LED lighting. President Chen toured its innovative product lineup. Yurun holds over 40 patents, maintains full-series international certifications, and is a designated supplier for renowned brands including KFC, Sinopec, and Yadea. With a self-built industrial park boasting a monthly capacity exceeding 1 million meters, its products are widely used in commercial, industrial, residential, and automotive lighting.

Through this comprehensive series of visits, President Chen observed firsthand how Chinese lighting enterprises are engaging on the world stage with growing confidence and innovation. He noted the vibrant dynamism and immense potential for collaborative growth within the GLPF membership ecosystem. He encouraged all member units to continue deepening their technical expertise, strengthen cooperation, and jointly advance the global lighting industry toward a smarter, healthier, and more sustainable future.
