GLPF and IES have reached a strategic cooperation, providing multidimensional support for China's lighting to go global

Guangzhou, June 11, 2026—At the 13th LED Innovation Conference, the Global Lighting Procurement Federation (GLPF), operating as the international arm of the Shenzhen Lighting & Display Engineering Industry Association (SLDA), signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES). The signing was conducted by Charlie Chen, President of GLPF, and Dr. Amardeep M. Dugar, Chair of the IES Global Development Committee.

This signing is not a simple statement of intent, but a deep binding based on specific execution content. According to the agreement, the cooperation between the two parties will go beyond traditional business docking and delve into the underlying interoperability of technical standards, expert resources, and knowledge systems

Technology and Standards' Introduction+Going Global ': GLPF will support IES in organizing technology seminars, industry forums, and standard promotion roadshows in China and Southeast Asia; Both sides will establish an expert exchange mechanism, invite each other to participate in technical committee meetings and standard setting discussions, and allow Chinese industrial voices to be more deeply involved in the international standard context.

Knowledge asset co construction: Both parties will regularly exchange non confidential market insights and technological trends, and plan to jointly prepare white papers and classic cases in the fields of smart lighting, human centered lighting, and sustainable lighting, providing authoritative knowledge tools for the industry.

Compliance Pre requisite for North American Market: In response to industry pain points, both parties have explicitly stated that they will provide targeted pre exhibition training for selected high-quality enterprises, covering IES technical standards and North American market norms, to enhance the compliance capabilities and professional image of Chinese enterprises from the source.

Platform based display and exclusive channels: Both parties will jointly explore the feasibility of establishing the "GLPF-IES Joint Exhibition Hall", plan a series of special activities, and organize the China US Lighting Development Forum. By creating a normalized high-level dialogue and display platform, a "green channel" will be built for high-quality enterprises to access the North American market, achieving full chain connectivity from technical exchange to commercial landing.

This cooperation marks a new stage in the internationalization process of China's lighting industry, shifting from a single product output to a comprehensive ecological output of "product+technology+standards".
